In Skate 4, leveling up isn’t just about getting better at tricks, it’s about building up your reputation (Rep) across the neighborhoods of San Vansterdam. Each zone in San Vansterdam has its own Rep meter, and your activities directly affect it.
Ranking up unlocks everything from expanded shop inventories to new fast travel points. That means if you want to experience everything the city has to offer, you’ll need to put in the efforts to increase your Rep in Skate 4.
How to Level Up and Get More Rep in Skate
As mentioned above, progress in Skate 4 is tied to neighborhoods, not just your character. That means the more you play in a zone, the more Rep you earn, and the better the rewards you get. Here are some of the best ways to increase your Rep and level up fast.
Play Story Missions First
Story missions are a strong way to gain Rep quickly. These campaign-style objectives reward more points than anything else, so if you’re focused on leveling up, complete them whenever possible. They also introduce you to new systems and characters, which makes later challenges easier.
Switch Between Side Missions and Challenges
Once story missions are completed or locked, turn your attention to side missions and timed challenges. Daily tasks refresh every day and are great for steady progress: they’re quick, focused, and stack up over time. Permanent challenges also give you a decent Rep boost. You can use fast travel points in each neighborhood to quickly hop between challenges.
Team Up with Friends
Playing co-op can make leveling up so much easier. When you skate with friends or a party, completing challenges benefits the entire group. In many cases, only one player needs to land the trick or objective for everyone to receive rewards. This makes it much easier to farm Rep, especially if your squad includes skilled players who can help clear difficult objectives.
Skate for Passive Rep
You don’t have to be grinding missions every minute. Tricks, combos, and simply skating around the neighborhood all contribute to its Rep.
Spend your Rip Chips wisely. Focus on the neighborhoods that you’re currently leveling up so the gear and cosmetic rewards directly support your progress there. That way, every Rip Chip spent enhances both your style and your Rep growth in the places you skate most.
